In exactly a week from now (July 19th), we will have just arrived to El Salvador in Central America to visit my father. It was pretty much a spur of the moment type of trip, Lars and I decided about a month ago and said “fuck it, let’s go!” No particular reason, but I must admit, I have been missing my dad somewhat. I guess I’m starting to appreciate him a lot more as I get older and after my best friend lost her father suddenly a year ago, it hit me hard and was certainly a wake up call. Plus, I haven’t seen him in nearly two years and I think visiting him on his territory is by far better than having him visit us in LA and stay with us. Lars has never traveled to any region of South or Central America, so I have a feeling that initially he’ll be in for a culture shock.
We’ll be staying for 3 weeks and hoping we’ll make our way down to Ecuador where my brother Kamran lives. Haven’t seen him in a bit either and hanging with him is always a mixture of INSANITY, late nights and great times. I’m definitely bringing my laptop cause I’ll feel naked without it, including all my techy gear. I’ll be updating my blog with photos and a trip journal of the happennins..
