I know I’ve been lacking on posts…so sorry! I’ve been traveling a lot..Just this past month I’ve been to Ecuador, Miami and Germany (where I am currently). Lars and I are traveling to Amsterdam next week..which I am highly looking forward to…will post pics and all that good stuff later. For now, here’s a graphic design goodie…
Variations of the letter M and other Metro logos of the world.
Most metros have logos or symbols to mark their station entrances, rolling stock, and printed matter such as maps or tickets. Since most metros around the world are indeed called ‘metros’ (only few are called subway, underground, U-Bahn, T-bana or something else), many metro logos are more or less fancy variations of the letter M.

Hi Kat,
There is a huge letter ‘m’ in iamsterdam @ the Museumplein in Amsterdam (see my website) maby worth visiting. Enjoy your stay in Amsterdam
Reply to SanderHi Sander, thanks for the tip in Amsterdam. We are actually staying close to the Museumplein and I will be snapping many photos everywhere.
Reply to katYou have a lovely design/typography site. Definitely worth the visit!
Being from New York, I’ve always been partial to the MTA going off into the horizon logo. The Path train “P” ain’t so bad either. Pretty cool to see all the logos at once.
