Color Wars 2008 held a competition for people to submit a photo of themselves when they were young and another photo trying to recreate that moment as they are now. They have a gallery of all the submissions and some of them are just awesome.

Reply to JohnI don’t like #4 quite as much because the expression in her face is totally different. The shape is the same, but the attitude is different. I think the others do a better job of capturing the original expression.

I now know what I’m doing this weekend…digging through old family photos and seeing if there’s one I can recreate. This might make a really fun project to do with friends, and then assemble in a book and give out for christmas. Thanks for the inspiration!
